Business Headshots & Portraits in Polanco
Jackie’s inquiry for business headshots and portraits came in via an Instagram message:
Hello! Can I inquire for professional photos? How much would it be?
[…]I booked at Marriot Hotel for May 3 I was hoping you’re available as I had a bad experience with the last person I talked to.
It’s just a solo picture for me with headshots and corporate [portraits].
Up until recently, I hadn’t heard the expression “big girls’ photos.” This was the feedback after I took corporate headshots for this good-looking lady in my home-based studio in Polanco. Below, you can get a feel for what the place I’m shooting looks like(from another shoot, as I always forget to take any BTS videos).
After some more messages exchanged about the headshot session, we agreed on all the little details, and after the downpayment was settled, I confirmed her session. This payment policy is set to avoid no-shows or people changing their minds at the last minute.
Discussing with a client the use of headshots on LinkedIn and other platforms made me realize that there are people who still embrace black-and-white portraits. Because of that, you will now receive a couple of images converted to black-and-white, which is a complimentary service.
On the day of the shoot, Jackie and I kept in touch, making sure everything went smoothly according to the plan. She had her hair and business makeup done prior to the session, which I highly recommend, especially for ladies. This was an extra step to ensure we had excellent results and quality-grade images we could both be proud of.
An interesting fact to note is that her attire in the business portrait below isn’t just any outfit; these are her work clothes, which are standard equipment for Marriott workers(or maybe just for managers?). Either way, I felt very humbled by the trust to create corporate portraits she could use at work. Usually, these subtleties are left out of the conversations, but you can rest assured that my work is always focused on the best results for both print and digital uses.
I wish I were more talented at writing articles like this, but I always rely on showing off the photos I produce. This business headshots and portraits session was done in 35 minutes due to Jackie’s very tight schedule. Luckily, she stayed at Marriott, which is only 10 minutes away from my studio. This left no room for error nor for experimenting with creating more looks and studio images, and only a fast-paced “take the jacket, take off the jacket, take another jacket, relax, smile, serious face, smile, relax, straighten up your back”.
