Amber’s expanding team in Mexico City naturally pushed for hiring me as a corporate photographer to highlight their amazing workplace. Their office spans over 600 square meters and features one of the most beautiful murals I’ve seen in a company’s office.
Capturing images for the company’s internal use was a pleasure. Observing people is one of my favorite things to do (and essential for making professional portraits). It helps me create natural, standout imagery without the need for complicated poses.
As a coincidence, the company is originally from my home country, Romania, and is one of the most important agencies in the gaming industry. I don’t know much about gaming myself—my only ‘games’ are Photoshop and other photography editing software. Unsurprisingly.
As expected, the photography session was scheduled during working hours, when most of the employees were at work. Living in Mexico City made things easy for me, and it was a breeze to arrive on time as the distance measured hundreds of meters from my home to Amber’s office.
Of course, the day could not have been completed if I hadn’t done a few headshots and portraits. For this, I used the beautiful mural as a background. The QA Manager of Amber Mexico wanted to use the mural in their office as the background for a couple of headshots and portraits.
These are only a few of the images I took for Amber. Shooting for a couple of hours allowed me to create many beautiful photos while leaving space for the employees to get used to me shooting all over their office.
The office environment at Amber was a photographer’s dream. The spacious layout and modern design elements provided plenty of opportunities to capture the essence of their work culture. Employees were engaged in their tasks, and the natural light flowing through the windows added a vibrant touch to each photograph.
One of the highlights was definitely the mural. It is a piece of art and I hope, a symbol of creativity and collaboration within the company. Using it as a backdrop for portraits added a uniqueness to the images, making them quite special. Seeing the employees’ enthusiasm and pride in their workplace helped me produce genuine and lively portraits.
Amber’s decision to hire a corporate photographer like me wasn’t just about getting professional photos; it was about capturing the spirit of their company. Good photography can significantly impact how a company is perceived by potential hires. It provides a window into the company culture and environment, which is increasingly important in today’s job market where candidates look beyond just the job role and salary.
