Terms and Conditions

What do you offer?
 My services include Photography Sessions outdoors and indoors in my home studio, which I like to refer to it as Tatamy Studio-as it is a classic Japanese tatami room.

When and where? 
1. Outdoor Sessions take place year-round, at any time of the day or week, in and around Tokyo or Yokohama, including some areas around Fuji Mountain.
2. Studio sessions take place all year round and are limited to headshots (not full body) and small pet sessions. Headshots are for anyone in need of a high-quality professional portrait for their businesses, LinkedIn profile CVs, or solely for personal archival of one’s appearance. Pet sessions are designed to provide high-quality pictures of pets like dogs, cats, snakes, birds, rabbits, and more.

What if I am camera shy?
Most people haven’t spent much time in front of the camera unless there was a special event. Indoors and outdoor photoshoots make no exception, and emotions can overwhelm anyone. It is a natural process. I will use my experience to guide you through the shoot and ease your time in front of my camera. The sessions can turn as technical as you would like to, or as easy as a walk in the park. I’m very proud of myself as a photographer in this matter, and I quote what a client wrote in a review on my Facebook Page:

 What about the weather?
Don’t worry; the plan will go forward, rain and snow can sometimes actually make your outdoor photography session more interesting, adding some dramatic look to the photos.


What about the clothing?
Clothes with plain colors and limited patterns and logos are usually the best outfits. If you are a fashion person and like to show off your style and the brands you proudly own, I’ll make sure you stand out even more. At all times, it is important to me that you are feeling comfortable with what you are wearing.

What about my supportive friend?
At all times, I want you to be comfortable; that’s why it is my top priority. If you wish so, please bring your friend over. It may be of help during the photography session.

What about getting to know you before the session?
I highly recommend we get in touch via Instagram, Facebook, Skype, FaceTime, and the list may extend. So we can have a less formal chat about the photo shoot and get to know each other. I genuinely believe in human connections.

What about a way to contact you before the session in case I am late or I get lost?
I will make sure you will have more than one option to contact me. Please note that it may not always be possible to extend your shooting time if I have another client scheduled on the same day.

What about recommending a place for the outdoor photo session?
As a photographer, I already have places I love to go to, which work very well for outdoor sessions. The final decision, however, will be yours.

What about extending the shooting time?
I would be delighted to spend more time with you. Please do inform me well before the shooting time; it may not always be possible.

About The Images You Will Receive

What about the delivery times of the photos?
I usually deliver the photographs in a short amount of time, sometimes the same day. However, you should expect to receive the photos in a maximum of 4(four) business weeks.

What about the form I will receive the photos?
At the moment, I deliver only digital JPG images in two versions. One version will include high-resolution JPG photos meant explicitly for print and big-screen viewings, such as laptops or personal computers. The second version will consist of smaller JPG images optimized for online media use such as Instagram, Facebook, and more, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

What about a page to share the photos with my family and friends?
As a complementary service, I offer a public, or password protected page for sharing your images with your family and friends.

What if I lose the photos?
I offer a 30(thirty) days complimentary photo storage from the day I receive the confirmation via e-mail/social media that the client has received the digital files of the photos. However, I might be able to supply the images long after the 30 days, maybe even years.

What about selecting the final images?
I currently work using two options:
-I deliver final images without the client involved in the process;
-I make proofs available when the client wants to choose himself the photos; the proofs will be unedited versions from the raw images, and the client must not share in any way or form any proofs, nor mention my name under any tests. I may preselect the photos to ensure you will see only the technically correct executed images. The total number of photos depends on the package the client chooses.

What does photography editing means?
I genuinely believe that images are a polished product, and every client has the right to choose which way to go with editing. My style includes standard photography editing- much like developing a photo during the film era. Any of my photographs will have modified the contrast, exposure, and white balance (color) corrections and is an integrant part of my style—these adjustments do not affect the likeness of people and places. Additionally, according to my best abilities, editing may include upon request (for an extra cost) high-end skin retouching, blemishes, and moles removal, teeth whitening, eye size retouching, lipstick adjustments. My offers never include RAW images. I can offer a sped-up movie with all of the editing steps upon request(at a cost) for your personal use.

What about keeping my images private?
I am actively using the photos I create to promote my work in any way or form, using marketing techniques or blog about, except for any defamatory purposes.
Everyone has the right to privacy, and I understand if you want to remain private, please let me know in advance. It is a given that I do not share any data related to personal information such as e-mail, names, addresses. However, the client must understand and agree that Cristian Bucur Photography can not be held accountable in no way, shape or form responsible for any loss, leakage, digital theft of any data or digital photographs that may occur from initial contact to book the photography session until the clients receive the final digital images.

About Pricing


What is the cost of your services?
My services and prices are well described on the services page. Prices are non-negotiable and are subject to 10% TAX.

What are your rates/deposit and how can I pay?
Any bookings will be validated after you deposit via PayPal, a fixed amount of 10.000 YEN or 97$. The remaining balance you can pay in cash on the day of the shoot when we meet.

What if your current services don’t cover my needs?
I am always open to any inquiries you may have, and I will make sure to provide you a personalized offer to cover all your needs.

What if we choose a location outside of the Tokyo Metropolitan Area?
In case of shooting at places for which the total travel cost is from 1500 YEN, you will have to cover my travel cost, payable in advance via PayPal.

What if the location of the shoot requires an admission fee?
The admission fee for the locations is payable by the client. Payment is possible either in advance via PayPal or in cash directly on the day of the shoot; all details will be discussed via e-mail.

About Policies

What is the procedure to reserve a photoshoot?
Scheduling a photoshoot is a simple task, simply reach out via my Contact Form.

How far in advance should I book my session?
Scheduling bookings are possible with up to 6 months in advance.

What if I need to cancel the photo session?
Life can throw at us a multitude of challenges, and I fully understand that. I will offer a full refund if you cancel the session with a minimum of 14(fourteen) days before the session date. Canceling requests occurring within 14(fourteen) days from the shoot date will forfeit the full deposit.

What if I need to reschedule?
I usually offer 1(one) rescheduling date at your earliest convenience from my available dates, with no extra fee; this is not an obligation from Cristian Bucur Photography, and it may be denied depending on my schedule. 

What happens in the case of Natural Disasters?
In Japan, Natural Disasters happen. In case of a natural disaster, you will receive your full deposit, minus transfer fees.

What happens should the photographer be unable to attend the photoshoot?
First of all, I want to emphasize that I have never been in a position to cancel any work-related meetings or shootings. However, in the case of personal or family pressing matters, mental or physical unavailability due to accidents or illnesses, I will try my best to reschedule at your earliest convenience or put you in contact with a list of local photographers.

CLIENT AGREES THAT PHOTOGRAPHER CAN NOT BE HELD LIABLE IN ANY WAY FOR ANY ACCIDENTAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HARM THAT MAY OCCUR DURING AND AFTER THE PHOTOSHOOT IS CONSIDERED COMPLETED. THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY ALSO APPLIES TO ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO FOOTAGE, PHOTOGRAPHS OR OTHER MATERIALS AFTER THE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION. THE ONLY REMEDY FOR ANY ACTIONS OR CLAIMS RESULTING FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER’S INABILITY TO DELIVER THE GOODS AND SERVICES ON THIS WEBSITE SHALL BE LIMITED TO 1(ONE) RESHOOT A A LATER DATE AGREED BY BOTH PARTIES.
